14/08/26 JAPAN HIT BY RECORD RAIN AS FLOODWATERS SWALLOW CITIES NEAR TOKYO Japan is dealing with an unfolding disaster just outside one of the largest cities on Earth. Record-breaking rain slammed Chiba Prefecture east of Tokyo, dumping an incredible 4.5 inches in just ONE HOUR in Chiba City. Roads disappeared beneath floodwater. Cars were submerged. Trains were disrupted. Thousands of travelers were stranded, and power was knocked out to tens of thousands of homes.
